Wanayran Alvarez Angerer

Wanayran Angerer, a world-renowned Honduran Jazz performer, artisan, world traveler, and mother. Wanny, as she is fondly referred to, has traveled across Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean using art and music as a conduit for social and cultural homogeneity to bring about positive change across the globe.

Wanayran is also the founder of Moving Cultures, a volunteer-based, art, culture, and entrepreneurship-oriented social movement, promoting unity in diversity. Wanayran created Moving Cultures from an appreciation for the arts and the belief in its power to make a positive difference.

A woman's rights activist Alongside her artistic work, Wanayran is also a woman's rights activist. Wanayran founded the first organization to promote female arts in Honduras, called Women in Arts (MUA-Mujeres en las Artes), which is still active after 30 years.
